![]() ![]() One of this seasons’ greatest strengths is its ability to find new ways to surprise audiences, especially when it feels like the show is about to retread old ideas. The same can be said for the vampires’ exposure to a Pride Parade or a night out drinking “with the boys,” and the wild tangents that are born out of this mundanity. A group trip to the mall, for instance, is a playful, low stakes way to kick off the season that’s both familiar and fresh. This season is particularly confident when it comes to finding new scenarios for these characters to explore instead of just a retread of what’s worked in the past. ![]() It’s difficult for any series to feel fresh five seasons in and What We Do in the Shadows deserves credit for how much these episodes disrupt the status quo. What We Do in the Shadows’ characters are at their oldest and beginning to show their age, yet this season feels fresher than ever. This latest season is a satisfying reminder of what made the show successful in the first place, but it also strives to build new relationships and character dynamics through bold, serialized storylines. A less confident series would return to the comfort of what’s previously worked, like the safety of a coffin, but What We Do in the Shadows fearlessly forges forward with newfound enthusiasm. After four full seasons, What We Do in the Shadows has already touched upon and remixed all of the mainstream vampire tropes. Five seasons can be a crucial period for any television series, let alone one that benefits from the limitless nature of vampires and other paranormal creatures, where what worked in the past now wears thin. The vampires in What We Do in the Shadows are hundreds of years old and while the audience has only been privy to a minuscule fraction of their existence, it’s funny how five seasons can begin to feel like an eternity. Short levels, increasingly interesting rewards, and an optional pay scheme make for a fun, fast, and very accessible adventure on your iPhone.Trips to the mall, pride parades, and political aspirations keep Staten Island’s most unique undead busy with a strong season of supernatural soul-searching. The free to play aspect holds back some components as you'll need to wait to reach the higher-level content and the gear needed to take it on but unless you're playing hours at a time, you're unlikely to reach these barriers.Įternity Warriors 2 is a great example of how to translate an idea from the larger screen to a mobile touch screen device. It's actually very impressive to play through a game that looks and feels a lot like a classic dungeon crawl action RPG on the PC, without any lag and with deep customization elements and PvP components. The game, itself, never lags and there is often a lot going on at once with dozens of enemies onscreen, combos flying off, and loot all over the ground. It takes time to load the first time and then each new level and screen causes a short delay though it did seem to speed up a bit the longer we played. When you start Eternity Warriors 2 for the first time it can be a bit slow. Combined with PvP elements and the constant draw of the level and loot grind, this is a very addictive game. A free-to-play game, there are some limits on what you can do without paying but they are fair and the game keeps expanding even if you opt to keep it free throughout. Eternity Warriors 2 evokes the gameplay elements and feel of classics like Diablo in a mobile package that manages to work quite well in most instances. ![]()
